NEW YORK: ALL THINGS FASHION

September 25, 2015

As for fashion, I was in New York at THE perfect time. At the beginning of the trip, the Met exhibition "China: Through the Looking Glass" (part of the Chinese Galleries and Anna Wintour Costume Center) was extended for a few days. I was able to see it a couple days before the closing. The exhibition was absolutely stunning. The lighting was perfect, the opening installation was magnificent, and there was a lot of clothing to view. There were outfits by many designers including Alexander McQueen, Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and more.

For one of our last days in New York, we went to the Brooklyn Museum. They were having an exhibit featuring the evolution of sneakers called Sneaker Culture.

When I realized that my trip would overlap the beginning of New York Fashion Week, I squealed and did a little happy dance (in the privacy of my room of course). I could not believe that I would be in New York at such a time so soon. I imagined it would happen when I'm out of college, getting invited to a show or something. One thing I wanted to make sure to do is get some street style pictures. Unfortunately, we had to take care of stuff so I couldn't take photos during the day, but I got a few at night. I wish I could have photographed at a time with better lighting, but I'm positive that there will be a next time for NYFW.
