SUMMER IN NEW YORK
September 16, 2015
On the first of September, I took off from Jacksonville to fly along the east coast. Approximately two hours later, my feet set on new land, New York City. From JFK, we headed over to our hotel to begin our journey through the city that never sleeps. For our stay, we resided in Brooklyn and stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. One spectacular thing that I can say about this hotel is the rooftop (in love). The photo above is the view from the rooftop. Luckily, our room was on the corner of the 11th floor so our view was practically a replica of this cityscape. While in the city, I experienced almost all forms of transportation such as walking, subway, buses, taxis, and private transportation. We went to a LOT of places since this is practically my first time in New York (we visited for less than a day almost a decade ago). I'm going to share just a fraction of what I did and I'll separately share about the food and fashion.
Chinatown. This area is really amazing. When we reached our subway stop and walked up the stairs and onto the sidewalk, I felt as though I had entered a whole other world. It was so interesting how many shops there were in one space!
Outside the MoMa. Some artists were selling work outside of the entry to the Museum of Modern Art.
Museum of Modern Art. I was able to see a ton of the work that I've studied and have loved in person.
Central Park. When people say that Central Park is huge, they really mean that Central Park is huge. It is also very beautiful!
Central Park Zoo.
Madison Avenue. Shopping districts make me so happy.
Hotel View at Night. Never Forget.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The museum is so big that I did not even walk by everything.
Brazilian Day Near Times Square. Lots of people, lots of great Brazilian food.
Brooklyn Public Library & Brooklyn Museum. It was raining this day (and it didn't rain at all prior to that day).
