I thought that I would start the week by sharing some music that I've been loving lately. This album is Audio:Cinema by Cody Fry. I first heard about Cody Fry when he was on American Idol this past season. When he didn't get selected for live performances, I knew that I couldn't let go of such an amazing artist. Thankful, he has music out. Go check out his album on NoiseTrade. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do.
Today, there was an event for the Alligator Competition. Six Accessory Design students from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) were selected to create a collection using alligator skin. My sister was one of the students selected to compete. She and her classmates created some amazing pieces!
Awarded "Best Use of Alligator Skin"
Awarded "Best Overall"
Last night was a little rough. It's midterm week which means that there are many projects and tests to do. To complete my project, I only got about two hours of sleep. Thankfully, the critique went very well! When class ended early, I decided that it was time to treat myself. So, I made my way over to Goose Feathers Cafe to get some brunch. The service was amazing and the food was pretty good!
After I was finished with my Belgian waffle and latte, I walked over to the Gutstein Gallery to look at the Silver & Ink photography exhibition.
To end the afternoon, I went over to Urban Outfitters. I really love the interior of the store right now. I may or may not have bought something... :)
Today was Day 3 of SCAD Style and during the afternoon Videographer Meagan Cignoli, Jewelry Designer Jennifer Fisher, and Fashion Designer Melissa Coker discussed social media with us. The three social impactive women talked about promoting your own brand through visual media. Panels can get boring from time to time, but this one was amazing! I was so engaged the whole time. Number one, Jennifer Fisher is so awesome. Her personality was exciting and you just wanted to listen to her. Also, her outfit was on point.
Today is the second day of SCAD Style Week. Throughout the week, fashion designers, architects, and many others come to speak at SCAD campuses. Today, Executive Editor at Style.com Nicole Phelps interviewed Fashion Designer Joseph Altuzarra. It's wonderful to hear the voice behind the masterpieces in person. I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to be there!
